Declaration of Independence
In January of the year 1777 (half a year after the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776), Mary Katherine Goddard had the courage to publish "the first copy of the Declaration with the identities revealed (Source)."
We, the Sisters of the Daughters of the American Revolution, are proud of Mary Katherine Goddard's patriotism.
In this time of uncertainty, we should look to the courage of our past to find the courage for our future.
We should not fear our rights as United States citizens to speak out against injustice, but we should remember that aggressive acts do not help the various causes of the United States of America. In the end, we are all human beings and should treat each other as such.
